As part of the regeneration drive in Anambra, the road project for the construction of the 4.534 km Pal Junction Oko to Ogboji is nearing completion, as the state Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, inspected the road recently.
Governor Soludo, who was applauded by residents of the community, stated that the project is aimed at transforming the area to make it livable, without the flooding hazards that constitute a menace to the people.
Soludo assured the people that the road, when completed, will give the place a modern outlook and ease movement within the area.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, Governor Soludo, in his infrastructure and transformation drive, is turning Anambra into the Dubai-Taiwan Silicon Valley of the country.
Recently, the governor broke the 34-year jinx in the state with the newly built Government House and Lodge, the first since the state’s creation in 1991, the building of the Deputy Governor, the Governor’s Office, 24 other structures, a world-class Amphitheatre, and an auditorium.
Also included were the eight-lane Emeka Anyaoke Boulevard, the dual highway leading to the new government building, and the Solution Fun City in Awka, which is described as the largest in Africa, ‘Our Heroes Past Monument,’ the Light of the Nation Tower, among other completed projects.
While commissioning the new government house and other projects recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the governor’s transformation of vital sectors of the state’s economy including education, and health, where Soludo was recognized as the most performing governor in primary healthcare in the Southeast region and overall nationally, transportation, innovation, security, agriculture, among others, demonstrates his intellectual excellence which was evident in him during the banking consolidation era when he was the Governor of the nation’s Central Bank.
