President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the support of the First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for always being with his wife, Her Excellency, Senator, Oluremi Tinubu, while delivering her role to the nation.

President Tinubu made the commendation during a ceremony in Awka, Anambra State, after commissioning Governor Soludo’s newly built Government House and Lodge. This massive complex incorporates the Deputy Governor’s building, the Governor’s house and office, and 24 other structures, including a world-class amphitheatre and an auditorium.

Also commissioned was an eight-lane road named after Emeka Anyaoku the former Commonwealth Secretary General, an Indigene of the state, and the sprawling Solution Fun City in Awka, designed for the people of Anambra to enjoy and play, on Thursday, 8th May, 2025.

The President stated, “The First Lady of Anambra state, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, thank you for always being with the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the inspiring support you have given is deeply appreciated.”

Also addressing Governor Soludo as the ‘Solution,’ President Tinubu commended Governor Soludo for his incredible leadership qualities demonstrated through his infrastructural development and transformation of Anambra, making it an emerging Dubai-Taiwan Silicon Valley of the country.

He said “Anambra is rising, and we are ready to work with you,” signaling his confidence in Governor Soludo’s administration.

According to President Tinubu, the governor’s transformation of vital sectors of the state’s economy including education, and health, transportation, innovation, security, agriculture, among others, demonstrates his intellectual excellence which was evident in him during the banking consolidation era when he was the erstwhile Governor of the nation’s Central Bank.

The President further averred that Soludo’s excellent performance in governance has shown he is progressive, that despite the party differences, he likes achievers like him, and that they have a relationship.

In his remark, Governor Soludo thanked the president for his friendship and visionary leadership. He added that his party, APGA, an older progressive party than the APC, has a policy of aligning with the central government. He reminded the massive crowd that in 2015, APGA decided to support the government at the centre, adding that the policy had not changed. He said that as a federalist with the principle of progressivism, his ideology aligns perfectly with that of “the new hope” agenda of the Federal government.
